Five Named to GNAC Women's Tennis All-Conference Team; Rauseo Named Top Coach, Le Named Top Rookie

WINTHROP, Mass. ? Simmons College women?s tennis players Meg Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.), Caroline Khoury (Portsmouth, Ohio), Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio), Cathy Baker (Simbury, Conn.) and Han DK Le (Tra Vinh, Vietnam/Matignon HS (Mass.) were all named All-Conference by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in addition to Head Coach Bob Rauseo being selected Co-Coach of the Year and Le earning Rookie of the Year honors, it was announced today by the league.

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women's tennis players Meg Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.), Caroline Khoury (Portsmouth, Ohio), Theresa Reinhard (Canton, Ohio), Cathy Baker (Simbury, Conn.) and Han DK Le (Tra Vinh, Vietnam/Matignon HS (Mass.) were all named All-Conference by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference in addition to Head Coach Bob Rauseo being selected Co-Coach of the Year and Le earning Rookie of the Year honors, it was announced today by the league. 

Rauseo shared the league's top coaching honor with Anna Maria College's Adam Williamson after leading the Sharks to their seventh straight GNAC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth after posting a 13-2 overall record, including their seventh year in a row with a spotless conference mark at 6-0. Simmons capped the fall season with a 7-2 victory over Johnson & Wales University to capture the league title on October 26. The honor marks the seventh time and fourth straight year that Rauseo has been selected for the award. His career has been nothing short of exemplary with the Sharks, compiling a 137-54 (.717) record, including 90-2 (.978) regular-season mark vs. GNAC opponents, including 52 consecutive victories in conference play, while winning nine league crowns. Rauseo is in his 10th year with Simmons and also serves on the ITA Division III Ranking Committee, as well as the NCAA Division III Regional Advisory Committee. 

Le becomes the seventh Simmons player to be named Rookie of the Year and the fourth straight. The first year was also selected to the GNAC All-Conference Second Team. The native of Vietnam was named GNAC Rookie of the Week a league-high five times and has posted a combined 23-4 record, including a perfect 11-0 in doubles action. A graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge, Mass., she has won nine of her last 11 singles tilts and has played as high as number three in the singles lineup, posting a 3-0 record from that spot. Prior to helping the Sharks win the league title, Le's highlight of the year was arguably at the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament, where she combined with junior doubles partner Katie Crowley (Reading, Mass.) to win the 'D' Draw championship, going a combined 6-2, including 4-0 in doubles action. 

Cokely earns First Team All-Conference honors for the third year in a row in singles play, while landing on the Second Team for doubles after earning First Team doubles accolades last season. The junior has won six straight singles matches and has put together a combined 22-9 record, including 14-3 in singles action, while going a perfect 7-0 (4-0 singles, 3-0 doubles) vs. GNAC opponents. She was named the GNAC Player of the Week twice and selected to the GNAC All-Tournament Team for the second straight year. The Haverhill High School product played exclusively at number two singles and first doubles for Simmons and won all but one of her singles matches in straight sets, including five outings without dropping a game. The former GNAC Rookie of the Year has racked up a career combined record of 70-33, including 38-13 in singles play and has never lost a singles match to a GNAC opponent during the regular season, rolling up a 13-0 mark, while owning a 13-1 doubles record in GNAC action. Cokely has won at least 22 combined matches in each of her three seasons with the Sharks. 

Joining Cokely on First Team Singles and Second Team Doubles is Reinhard, her doubles partner. The sophomore moved up to the one spot in singles play this season and posted an 8-8 record, including 3-1 in GNAC play, while owning a 10-5 doubles mark and was a perfect 4-0 vs. league foes. She joined Cokely midway through the season and the pair put together a 6-2 doubles record. The Saint Thomas Aquinas graduate was named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team and has won four of her last singles contests, including a three-set thriller in the conference championship, and has won eight of her last 10 doubles matches as well. Reinhard earned Player of the Week honors this season and was named the league's Rookie of the Year last season. The second-year player has compiled a 37-29 career combined mark and is 13-2 vs. GNAC opponents, including 7-1 in singles play during her tenure at Simmons. 

Khoury becomes the third member of the Sharks to earn a spot on this year's GNAC First Team after posting a 6-4 singles record, including a perfect 4-0 against GNAC opponents. She was also named to the GNAC's All-Sportsmanship Team. The junior stepped into the lineup as the team's number four player and by the end of the season, was one of Simmons' most successful singles players, winning five of her last six matches, including three matches without dropping a game. A graduate of Portsmouth High School, Khoury recorded an 8-5 doubles record, including nine matches at the one spot, and earned wins in seven of her last eight matches. She finished the season with a combined 14-9 record as part of a 31-24 career combined tally. She also owns a 23-18 career doubles record and has never lost in GNAC play, posting a 10-0 doubles record in league action. 

Baker was a GNAC Second Team selection after an impressive campaign that saw her lose just one match all season. The sophomore was a perfect 6-0 in singles action, including 4-0 in GNAC play and earned wins at number two, four, five and six singles. Baker also turned in a 6-2, 6-0 victory in the GNAC Championship dual match at fifth singles. The Simsbury High School product also recorded a 6-1 mark in doubles play and was 3-0 vs. GNAC foes. Her 12-1 combined season record is part of a 21-6 career mark in her two seasons with the Sharks. Baker has been dominant in league play during her career, posting a 10-1 combined record, including 4-0 in doubles play. 

Simmons earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, but won't be in action again until the spring when it takes on Brandeis University in dual match play on Saturday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m.
