Title: Assistant Softball Coach

Eric Rasmussen is entering his third year as an Assistant Coach for the Simmons Sharks and will work closely with the team’s catchers. Rasmussen served as the starting catcher for the Yale University Bulldogs for three-plus years and helped the 2006 squad to a 26-win season, which was the second-highest total in the program's 150-year history.

During the summer months, he also played in some of the most highly respected summer baseball leagues in the country, including the Great Lakes League (Murrysville Maulers, 2003), Cape Cod Baseball League (Brewster Whitecaps, 2004) and New England Collegiate Baseball League (Sanford Mainers, 2005). Prior to college, Rasmussen attended Nauset Regional High School in Eastham, Mass. and played with the South Shore Sea Dogs.

Rasmussen, who graduated in 2006 with a B.A. in Economics, works full time for U.S. Trust as an equity research analyst, focusing on the healthcare sector. A native of Brewster, Massachusetts, he currently resides in Quincy with his wife Emma and dog Shelby.
