All-Conference shortstop Annie Thompson (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) went 6-for-8 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBI to help Simmons (5-7) sweep Saint Joseph (2-10) in a GNAC doubleheader at Saint Joseph College.

The games were the first in the conference for both teams.

Stephanie Valerio had two hits in each game for Saint Joseph and raised her team-leading batting average to .421. Susie Waters had one hit in each game and was the only other Blue Jay to have multiple hits on the day.

Simmons returns to action tomorrow when the Sharks travel to Suffolk University for a GNAC doubleheader at noon.
