Game One

A pitchers' duel between Simmons' Courtney Collier (Bolton, Mass.) and the Gators' Jackie Martinez (Albuquerque, NM) and found both teams scoreless through six. Martinez struck out the side in every odd inning to that point and fanned pinch hitter Emily Nalband (Litchfield, Conn.) to open the seventh for her 11th strikeout, allowing only two hits through seven.

For the Sharks, Collier was equally as solid, taking a one-hitter into the sixth before Michelle Campbell (Baltimore, MD) and Patty Pabon (Bronx, NY) garnered back-to-back, one-out singles. Collier spoiled Pine Manor's best opportunity to that point by whiffing Jackie Mannino for her seventh and final strikeout, stranding runners on second and third.

Ferrara started the eighth on second and was bunted to third by Michelle Myers (Freeport, NY), setting the table for Cambell's game-winning bouncer that drove in the game's only run.

Collier let up only four hits over 7 2/3 innings, striking out seven with zero walks.

Game Two

Wallace (Steep Falls, ME) legged out a triple to open the second inning of Game 2. Ferrara (South Portland, ME) singled her in two batters later coming around to score on a Pabon single, giving starter Tara Doehler (Lakeville, Mass.) a 2-0 lead.

Simmons answered in the fourth, getting on the board when a Leah Derderian (Boylston, Mass.) liner went off Ferrara's glove, with Derderian scoring on a Kristen Souza (New Bedford, Mass.) single to tie the game 2-2.

Wallace singled to lead off the sixth and was again sent home by Ferrara, this time after a fielding error by Sharks infielder Sam Green (Bridgewater, Mass.).

In the seventh, a Pabon error allowed Annie Thompson (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) to reach, but got Green to pop up to end it. Doehler scattered seven hits, allowing two runs, walking one and striking out three for the Pine Manor win.
