Sharks qualify for ECAC tournament

The Simmons College softball team closed out its regular season this weekend with a wild ride in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament. The Sharks finished 2-2 and wound up in third place but they played some memorable softball all weekend long.

Fresh off a record setting 31-10 season the Simmons College softball team was recognized on Monday as one of the top teams in New England, earning a bid to the ECAC tournament.
The Simmons College softball team has been making history all season long, and it didn?t stop Wednesday in the first ever postseason game in team history.

The Sharks, who are seeded third in the ECAC tournament, took on Nichols College, and came away with a 4-1 win, and the first postseason win in program history.

The Sharks are seeded third in the eight team tournament, and will take on sixth seeded Nichols College on Wednesday afternoon.

The game will be held at Nichols' home field at 3:30 p.m.
