DORCHESTER, Mass. – Continuing to make incremental improvements as the season progresses, Simmons cross country made great strides at the 54th Codfish Bowl on Saturday morning.

Competing against many Division I running club programs, junior Sarah Giuliano ran exceptionally well. Moving up five spots over the last 600 meters of the 5K race, she posted a season-best mile time of 7:43 to finish with a time of 23:56.3.

In her second meet of her collegiate career, sophomore Kaylah Schnitzer was the second Shark runner to cross the finish line with a time of 24:34.8, while junior Molly Guinivan was not far off the pace. Guinivan finished 10 seconds back of her teammate in 24:44.5.

First-year runner Justine Paragas remained consistent from last week, posting a nearly identical time. Running an 8:08-minute mile, she finished with a time of 25:13.7. Sophomore Gabby Flaherty and first-year Beth Pennington rounded out the Sharks runners, registering times of 26:26.1 and 27:59.3, respectively.
