Cross Country Finishes Seventh at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Simmons cross country continued to improve placed seventh at the UMass Dartmouth 5K JV Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Molly Guinivan was the first Sharks runner to cross the finish line of the JV team race, with a time of 23:28.3 to finish 77th in the 120 runner field. Newcomer, first-year Kaylah Schnitzer performed well in her first collegiate race. Running a 7:46.8-minute mile, she finished the 5K with a time of 24:10.5. 

Fellow first-year Justine Paragas was not far behind her classmate, crossing the finish line with a time of 24:59.5. Sophomore Gabby Flaherty ran an 8:14.4-minute, while first-year Beth Pennington rounded out the Sharks with a time of 26:49.7. 

UP NEXT
 Simmons returns to the course next Saturday, September 24 with the Cod Fish Bowl at Franklin Park.
