At 22:10, Brittany Samson raced toward a loose ball in the Sharks end. Hayes came out for the save but the ball slipped out to the foot of Miller who put the Pride up 2-0.

Hayes made another diving save with 18 minutes to play on a shot by Carressi and Simmons defender Katie McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine) stay composed, forcing Haines to shoot high in a one on one sprint to the left side.

In the second half, Hayes came up big with five saves in the opening ten minutes, including a diving save off a hard shot to the left corner by Fowler. Sophomore Ali Berkman (Natick, Mass.) forced Gillett to come out of the net for a save ten minutes in and first year Alexis Eusebio (Dartmouth, Mass.) sent a ball just wide as the Sharks gained momentum.

At 84:24, the Sharks cut the lead in half as Hilary Matthews found Heuslein just outside the box for a quick shot that beat Gillett up high.
