The Simmons program has flourished under Ashe over the past six campaigns at the Fenway school. He directed the Sharks to a second-place showing at the 2015 GNAC Championship for the highest team finish in school history in the meet. Ashe guided Simmons to another second place finish in 2016 when the Sharks tied for the lowest team score in the title meet, but were edged in the tie-breaker, before placing second again in 2017. The Simmons skipper also coached the 2018 GNAC Rookie of the Year and saw eight of 10 of his runners establish personal-record times in 2019.

Ashe has tutored 13 All-Conference runners and seen 22 competitors post top-20 finishes at the GNAC Championship during his tenure at the Fenway school.  

From 2015-17, Ashe saw at least two of his harriers finish among the top 10 in the championship meet with three earning All-Conference accolades. Simmons runners also established personal-record times throughout the season with 12 of 14 recording personal-record marks in 2017.

Five Sharks earned All-Conference status in 2016 for the highest total from one school in GNAC history, while seven Simmons runners placed among the top 19 in the championship meet. Not only did Ashe's squad experience success at the championship level, but his runners experienced personal achievement as well with 13 of the team's 17 competitors posting personal-record times during the campaign.

In just his first season with the Sharks, he led them to a third-place effort at the 2014 GNAC Championship and saw four runners finish among the top 16. Ashe also brought Simmons Cross Country to compete in the NCAA Regionals for the first time in over two decades since the sport's revival on campus.

Ashe came to the Fenway area with excellent experience as both a coach and a competitor. Prior to coming to Simmons, the Hanson, Mass. native served as a coach for three years as an assistant at both University of Massachusetts Boston and with his alma mater, Boston University, working with both the cross country and track & field squads.

While at BU, Ashe was a part of the staff that guided the Terriers to their first-ever Patriot League titles in women's cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field during the 2013-14 campaign. He has also helped guide three different individuals to All-American status.  

Prior to his budding coaching career, Ashe enjoyed an outstanding career at BU as a cross country and track competitor from 2006-11, where he was a two-time Captain and four-time team Most Valuable Performer. He won the America East Conference 3,000-meter steeplechase crown in 2008 and led the cross country team to a team title in 2010 with a 2nd place individual finish. An All-Conference honoree, Ashe helped the 4x800 meter relay team to multiple America East championships, while also posting a number of top-five individual finishes in cross country and track.  

He continues to compete post-collegiately as a member of the Boston Athletic Association. Ashe has twice qualified for the Olympic Trials Marathon, including the upcoming 2020 competition after recording a time of 2:17.24 to place 15th at the Twin Cities Marathon in Minnesota.  In 2015, he recorded a time of 2:17.56 at the Twin Cities Marathon to qualify for the Olympic Trials Marathon in Los Angeles, Calif. in February of 2016. Ashe placed 28th at the historic Boston Marathon in 2017 with a time of 2:23.28 and turned in a mark of 2:21.41 to place 36th in 2014. He also completed the Houston Half Marathon in 63:33 to better his mark from the previous year by a minute and a half, while finishing the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minn. in 2:17:06. He also holds personal bests of 4:03 for the mile and 8:40 for the 3000m steeplechase. In addition, he has spent the last 11 years as a Counselor at Foss Running Camp in Stafford, N.H. 

Ashe earned a bachelor of arts degree in International Relations in 2010 as well as a master's degree in Criminal Justice in 2012 from BU. In addition, he holds a USA Track & Field Level One certification.
