Bohan, Malloy, Coletti Post Personal-Best Times for Cross Country at NEICAAA Championship

DORCHESTER, Mass. ? Junior harrier Sarah Bohan (Guilford, Conn.) finished just a tick over 20 minutes to set a personal-record and lead the Simmons College women?s cross country team to a 12th place finish in the five kilometer junior varsity race at this morning?s New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship at historic Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass. 

DORCHESTER, Mass. – Junior harrier Sarah Bohan (Guilford, Conn.) finished just a tick over 20 minutes to set a personal-record and lead the Simmons College women's cross country team to a 12th place finish in the five kilometer junior varsity race at this morning's New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship at historic Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass. 

The Sharks scored 332 points in the race and finished third behind Tufts University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology among NCAA Division III squads. Boston College won the overall team crown with 25 points. Boston College first year Miranda Thompson (Toronto, Ontario) won the individual title with a time of 18:57. 

Bohan clipped a second off her personal-best mark and placed 44th overall and ninth among Division III runners. Classmate Samantha Jaffe (Fayetteville, N.Y.) turned in a season-best time of 20:48 to finish 88th and 20th, while first year Ellen Malloy (Acton, Mass.) shaved seven seconds off her personal-record time, crossing the finish at 21:14 to place 110th/28th. Sophomore Mary Coletti (Killingworth, Conn.) enjoyed the greatest improvement of the day for Simmons, coming in at 21:42, which was 37 seconds better than her previous best and good to place 132nd and 36th. Sophomore Emily Josephson (Rochester, Mass.) was a step behind to record the same time and place 133rd/37th

Junior Carol Figueiredo's (Norwood, Mass.) strong kick at the finish bumped her up two spots to place 174th/55th with a mark of 23:13, while sophomore Christina Colliton (West Hartford, Conn.) clocked in just three seconds behind to place 176th/57th. Sophomore Gabby Freeman (Newnan, Ga.) registered a time of 24:07 to finish 186th/63rd with junior Hannah Green (Blandford, Mass.) not far behind at 188th/65th with a time of 24:33. Sophomore Amelia Franklin (Bath, Maine) placed 192nd/67th with a time of 24:40 and first year Mai Linh Vankirk (Essex Junction, Vt.) turned in a time of 25:14 to finish 201st/71st for the Sharks. 

Simmons will run again on Saturday, October 14 when it heads to Northampton, Mass. to compete in the Seven Sisters Championship hosted by Smith College at 11:00 a.m.
