Bohan Places Fourth to lead Cross Country to Third-Place Finish at Roger Williams Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. - Junior Sarah Bohan (Guilford, Conn.) placed fourth to lead the Simmons College women's cross country team to a third-place showing this morning at the Roger Williams Invitational at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I.

The Sharks saw four runners place in the top-25 in the two-mile race and tallied 88 points, while Salve Regina University posted 70 points to win the meet championship.

Suffolk University sophomore Emily Manfra won the individual title with a time of 12:38.

Bohan clocked in at 12:48 to record a 6:24 mile, while senior Allegra Egizi (Beverly, Mass.) finished in 13 minutes flat to finish 11th in the race for Simmons. Sophomore transfer Mary Coletti (Killingworth, Conn.) finished 21st with a time of 13:24 in her collegiate debut and junior Samantha Jaffe (Fayetteville, N.Y.) crossed the line nine seconds later to place 25th. 

Sophomore Emily Josephson (Rochester, Mass.) registered a time of 13:47 to place 30th with first years Ellen Malloy (Acton, Mass.) and Caroline Hathaway (Middleton, Mass.) just steps behind, finishing a second apart from each other at 13:55 and 13:56 in their first career college competition. Sophomore Christina Colliton (West Hartford, Conn.) was also near the Sharks school of runners with a time of 14:03 to finish 37th in her Simmons debut.

Junior Carol Figueiredo (Norwood, Mass.) posted a time of 14:22 to finish 54th, while classmate Hannah Green (Blandford, Mass.) was right behind at 14:24 just ahead of sophomore Gabby Freeman's (Newnan, Ga.) mark of 14:25 to place 58th in her first college race.

Junior Kathryn Nagle (Bangor, Maine), first year Mai Linh Vankirk (Essex Junction, Vt.) and sophomore Amelia Franklin (Bath, Maine) finished together with times of 15:40, 15:41 and 15:50, respectively to place 75-77th.

The Sharks return to the trails on Saturday, September 23 when they compete in the 37th Annual Women's Codfish Bowl at historic Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass.
