WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College's Samantha Jaffe (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and Kara MacLean (Braintree, Mass.) were both named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference First Team, while Sarah Bohan (Guilford, Conn.), Mia DeLuccia (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Sara Harland (Pembroke, Mass.) were all tabbed to the Second Team, it was announced to by the league following the GNAC Championship on October 29. 

The five Sharks named to the All-Conference squad mark the most runners in league history to be named All-League from one school. The top seven finishers at the GNAC Championship automatically earn First Team designation, while the next top seven competitors are named to the Second Team. 

MacLean earns All-Conference accolades for the third straight year to become the first runner in school history to earn the honor three times. The graduate student placed seventh at the GNAC Championship meet at historic Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass. on October 29 with a time of 20:16. The Nursing major has competed in five races this year and turned in a pair of top-10 finishes adding a sixth-place effort at the Seventh Annual Fens Classic on September 3 to open the season, courtesy of a time of 12:31 in the two-mile race. A graduate of Braintree High School, MacLean posted sub-21 minute marks in all three five-kilometer races that she entered. She also finished 17^th at the Seven Sisters Championship on October 16 in Wellesey, Mass. after recording a personal-best 6K mark of 23:28.0. The three-year Captain has run under 21 minutes in all seven of her 5K races over the past two seasons. 

MacLean finished third in the GNAC title race last year and sixth in 2014. 

Jaffe matches her sixth-place finish from a year ago in the GNAC Championship, but shaved 16 seconds off her previous best time with a mark of 20:14. It was the sophomore's second top-10 showing of the year, including an eighth-place trek at the Fens Classic with a time of 12:40. In all three of the 5K races that Jaffe competed in, she broke the 21-minute mark. 

The Jamesville-DeWitt High School product has turned in sub-21 minutes efforts in six of seven career 5K races. 

Bohan earned a spot on the All-Conference squad following a 10^th-place finish with a time of 20:23 at the GNAC Championship. The sophomore has recorded two top-10 and four top-25 finishes this season, including a 24^th-place showing at the 36^th Annual Women's Codfish Bowl on September 24 with a personal-record mark of 20:10, good for the fastest time of any Shark this season. The Guilford High School graduate made her collegiate debut by placing 10^th at the Fens Classic with a time of 12:42. The newcomer opened eyes during the season for Simmons, earning  GNAC Rookie of the Week honors, for the week of October 3-9. Bohan registered a personal-record 6K time of 23:57.2 earlier in the season at the Seven Sisters Championship to place 22^nd. 

DeLuccia is named All-Conference for the first time in her four-year career with the Sharks after placing 13^th at the GNAC Championship with a personal-best time of 20:47, which was 25 seconds better than her previous record. A graduate of Lynnfield High School, DeLuccia posted three sub-22 minute times and also placed 16^th at the Fens Classic with a time of 13:13. 

The senior's previous best finish at the GNAC Championship was 14^th in 2014 when the league recognized just the top 10 runners as All-Conference honorees. 

Harland achieves All-Conference status in her final campaign for Simmons after clocking in at 20:49 to improve on her previous best by 30 seconds and place 14^th. The senior is one of two runners on the team to improve in all three of her five-kilometer efforts this season and ran under 22 minutes in every 5K race. The Pembroke High School product turned in two top-20 finishes and placed 17^th in the Fens Classic with a time of 13:18. 

Harland's GNAC Championship finish marked the fourth time she placed 17^th or better. She posted her highest finish in 2014 when she placed 12^th overall.

The Sharks return to the path at the NCAA Division III Regionals on the 6K course of Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. on Saturday, November 12.
