    BOSTON, MASS. -- Simmons cross country senior Nicole Chao (Fremont, Calif.) was named to the 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Conference Team for her top 10 finish at the GNAC Championship on October 27th at Rivier College announced today by the conference.

    NASHUA, N.H. -- The 18th running of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championship took place on the beautiful campus of Rivier University on Saturday, October 27th. For the third consecutive time, Johnson & Wales University captured the women's team championships. Norwich University claimed the Men’s Championship after having four top ten finishers.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons cross-country swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly awards announced Tuesday as senior Nicole Chao (Fremont, Calif.) was named GNAC Runner of the Week and freshman Tiffany Pierce (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) received Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season. Sharks tennis freshman Meghan Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) also received GNAC Tennis Rookie of the Week honors in addition to Tennis Rookie of the Year, awarded earlier this week.

    WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College Cross Country team topped Simmons College with a perfect score, taking the top seven spots in the 2012 Wellesley Invitational. The 5K race took place at Wellesley’s lake course on a humid Saturday morning.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons tennis and cross country swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly awards announced Tuesday by the conference. Sharks tennis clinched the #1 seed for the upcoming conference tournament and cross country ran to their second consecutive first place team finish on Thursday.

  • Pierce Named GNAC Cross Country Rookie of the Week

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons freshman Tiffany Pierce (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Cross Country Rookie of the Week announced today by the conference. Pierce ran the Mount Ida Invitational 5K course in 21:30, finishing in first place in her first collegiate race and outrunning the runner-up by more than 25 seconds.
  • Sharks Win 2nd Annual Mount Ida Invitational

    NEWTON, Mass. -- The Mount Ida College Athletic Department hosted the 2nd Annual Mount Ida Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning with five schools (Simmons College, Pine Manor College, Framingham State University, Curry College and Wheelock College) visiting campus for a men's 8K and a women's 5k race. In the women's division Simmons College placed 1st in overall team points (29) followed by Framingham State (43), Curry (69), Mount Ida (95) and Pine Manor (139).
