WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College's Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball First Team, while Abby Hart (Westfield, Mass.) and Alex Itasaka (Bradford, Mass.) were both named to the Third Team, it was announced today by the league. First year Jordan Davey (Plymouth, Mass.) was selected to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. 

The trio of all-conference honorees represents the highest total of Sharks named since 2012. 

Weeg burst onto the scene as one of the best players in the conference, averaging 4.00 kills per set to rank third among league leaders and first among rookies. Her clip also places her 30^th within all NCAA Division III players and third amongst the nation's first year players. In addition, Weeg picked up 3.31 digs per frame to place 11^th in the GNAC and established her as the only player in the league to average four or more kills and 3.3 or more digs per set. Named GNAC Rookie of the Week twice, Weeg's kill total is the third-most in a season at Simmons in at least a decade. The outside hitter started all 24 matches and played in all 86 sets for the Sharks, while ranking 15^th in the league with a .190 hitting percentage. The Agua Fria High School product fired 29 aces for the fourth-most on the squad and her 22 blocks, including four solos, put her second on the team. Weeg registered double digits in either kills or digs in all but three matches on the season and posted 15 double-doubles for the year. The front court player also swung for 20 or more kills on six occasions, including a season-high of 29 in a 3-2 victory over Emerson College on October 1. Weeg came up with 20 or more digs twice and got down for a season-best total of 22 to go with 20 kills vs. Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on October 10. She also hit .300 or better nine times, including a mark of .609 to fuel a 14-kill three-set effort at Suffolk University on October 29. Weeg enjoyed a four-match stretch from October 1-10, where she averaged 5.67 kills and 4.53 digs per set, while hitting .352. 

Hart earns Third Team All-Conference honors after enjoying the best offensive season of her career. The middle blocker averaged 2.52 kills per set to rank 13^th among league leaders, while her .262 hitting percentage placed her seventh in the GNAC. The senior was also among the best defenders at the net, getting up for 0.57 blocks per frame to rank 10^th among conference players and recorded at least one block in all but four matches, including 14 matches with multiple rejections. The Westfield High School graduate started all 24 matches, totaling 86 sets and averaged 2.95 points per set for the second-best rate on the squad, while ranking 13^th in the conference. The net player spiked for 10 or more kills nine times, including a career-high of 20 on a .471 hitting mark vs. Colby-Sawyer College on September 2. Hart was one of the most consistent hitters on the team, recording a .200 or better hitting percentage in 16 of 24 matches and posted a season-high mark of .500 to fuel an eight-kill effort at Suffolk on October 29. 

The four-year player finishes her career with 378 sets played in 111 matches, while putting down 587 kills to go with 214 total blocks, 109 digs, 42 aces and a .171 hitting mark. 

Itasaka makes her second appearance on the All-Conference squad after being named to the Third Team following her rookie campaign. The libero ranked third in the conference with a career-best 5.19 digs per set, while firing 38 aces at a 0.44 per set clip to place 15^th among GNAC leaders. The senior was extremely reliable when receiving serves, owning a .924 serve reception success rate. A graduate of Haverhill High School, Itasaka started all 24 matches and saw time in 86 sets and got down for double-digit digs in all but four matches. She registered 20 or more digs 10 times, including six contests with 30-plus digs. Itasaka recorded personal-best 34 digs vs. Saint Joseph's College (Long Island) on September 3 and averaged 6.42 digs per set in a three-match span from October 1-5. 

Itasaka has posted the three highest single-season dig totals in the past 10 years for Simmons, while totaling 1.467 during her four-year tenure. She is on the only player to have seen action in every match (114) and set (408) for the Sharks over the past four seasons. Itasaka also finished her career with 90 career aces and a lifetime reception rate of .918. 

Simmons finished the season with a 12-12 overall mark, including 8-3 in league play to earn the number four seed in the GNAC Championship Tournament. The Sharks were beaten in the GNAC semifinals by eventual champion Johnson & Wales University on November 3.
