    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball First Team, while Abby Hart (Westfield, Mass.) and Alex Itasaka (Bradford, Mass.) were both named to the Third Team, it was announced today by the league. First year Jordan Davey (Plymouth, Mass.) was selected to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The number four seed Simmons College women's volleyball team was defeated by host number one seed Johnson & Wales University, 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-15) this evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals at the Wildcat Center in Providence, R.I. The Sharks end their season with a 12-12 mark, while the Wildcats improve to a perfect 32-0 and advance to the GNAC Championship match.

    BOSTON, Mass. – First year outside hitter Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) spiked for a match-high 15 kills and picked up 12 digs to lead the fourth-seeded Simmons College women’s volleyball team to a 3-1 (22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-22) victory over visiting number five seed Lasell College this evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Quartfinals at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks have won eight of their last 10 matches and improve to 12-11 on the season, while the Lasers fall to 12-19.

    BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's volleyball team did not drop a set en-route to a sweep in a tri-match over host Suffolk University and University of Saint Joseph this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Regan Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 11-11 overall and 8-3 in league play to secure the fourth seed in the upcoming GNAC Championship Tournament. Suffolk falls to 11-15 and 4-7, while the Blue Jays end their season at 11-16 and 4-7.

    NASHUA, N.H. - First year outside hitter Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) posted her 11th double-double of the year and first year Carly Wanner-Hyde (Newington, Conn.) set for 28 assists to lead the Simmons College women's volleyball team over Mount Ida College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-17), this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Muldoon Gymnasium in Nashua, N.H. The Sharks improve to 9-9 overall and 6-2 in league play, while the Mustangs fall to 7-19 and 1-8.

The Sharks dip to 9-10 overall and 6-3 in league action, while the Raiders win their sixth straight match to improve to 25-3 and 8-1.

The Sharks win their fourth straight match to improve to 8-9 overall and 5-2 in league play, while the Saints fall to 10-16 and 6-3.

The Sharks have not dropped a set in their three-match win streak and improve to 7-9 overall and 4-2 in GNAC play, while the Cadets fall to 5-11 and 1-5.

The Sharks win their second straight match and improve to 6-9 overall, including 3-2 in league play, while the Monks fall to 5-9 and 2-2.

The Sharks improve to 5-9 overall and 2-2 in league play, while the Lasers fall to 5-12 and 1-2.

    BOSTON, Mass. - First year outside hitter Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) spiked for 51 kills and senior libero Alex Itasaka (Bradford, Mass.) picked up 54 digs to lead Simmons College volleyball in a tri-match vs. visiting Emerson College and Plymouth State University. The Sharks fell in a heartbreaking 3-2 (18-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 16-14) loss to Emerson and succumbed to Plymouth State in four sets (25-21, 25-20, 31-33, 25-20). Emerson also defeated Plymouth State, 25-18, 25-21, 25-14. The Sharks fall to 4-9 on the season, while the Lions improve to 13-5 and the Panthers are now 10-7.
