Six Sharks Named Scholar Athletes by ITA; Simmons Tennis Earns All-Academic Team Award
July 18, 2019TEMPE, Ariz. - The Simmons University women's tennis team received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team award, while senior Michelle Medici (South Portland, Maine) and juniors Marissa Johnson (Norwell, Mass.) and Nickie Nguyen (Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam/Saint Joseph Preparatory (Mass.)) joined first years Ally Cunningham (Augusta, Maine), Sarah Mariski (Portland, Maine) and Megan McKeever (Stamford, Conn.) each earned Scholar-Athlete recognition, it was announced today by the ITA. -
Tennis Falls at Endicott, 8-1, in Season Finale
April 28, 2019BEVERLY, Mass. -- The Simmons University women's tennis team was defeated by host Endicott College, 8-1, today at the South Campus Tennis Courts in Beverly, Mass. The Sharks conclude their season at 5-13, while the Gulls finish the 2018-19 campaign at 13-7.

The Sharks improve to 5-10 on the season, while the Colonels fall to 0-19.

Tennis Falls to Johnson & Wales, 5-0, in First Round of GNAC Championship Tournament
October 17, 2018PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The sixth-seeded Simmons University women's tennis team was defeated by host number three seed Johnson & Wales University, 5-0, this afternoon in the opening round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on the campus of Rhode Island College in Providence, R.I. The loss dips the Sharks to 4-10 on the season and marks the first time since 2004 that they will not compete in the GNAC Championship match, while the Wildcats improve to 11-4 and advance to face number two seed Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The match will be played at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Center. Simmons will resume its season during the spring.

October 13, 2018CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Michelle Medici (South Portland, Maine) and Paola Rios (Miami, Fla.) each earned wins in singles play to lead the Simmons University women's tennis team on Senior Day in a 7-2 loss to visiting Suffolk University this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match played at Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, Mass. The Sharks fall to 4-9 overall and 2-5 in league play, while the Rams improve to 5-8 overall and 3-4.

The Sharks improve to 4-8 overall, including 2-4 in league play, while the Falcons fall to 3-8 and 0-6.
