GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Junior Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) placed ninth for the Simmons University women's swimming & diving team in the 1650-yard freestyle this evening at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
Scholand turned in a time of 17:01.44 to finish just ahead of New York University junior Jaime Robinson, who clocked in at 17:01.66. The Shark was just over a second out of the eighth spot, held by sophomore Lydia Dacorte of Wheaton College (Mass.). with a mark of 17:00.61.
Scholand scored nine points in the event to contribute to Simmons 34th-place finish as a team for the Championships to conclude its season.
