Swimming & Diving Receives CSCAA/Nike Swim Spring 2014 Scholar All-America Team Award

BOSTON, MA - The Simmons College Women's Swimming & Diving Team was presented with the College Swimming Coaches Association of America/Nike Swim Spring 2014 Scholar All-America Team Award, it was recently announced by the CSCAA.

BOSTON, MA - The Simmons College Women's Swimming & Diving Team was presented with the College Swimming Coaches Association of America/Nike Swim Spring 2014 Scholar All-America Team Award, it was recently announced by the CSCAA.

The Spring Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the semester/quarter coinciding with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA/CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Sharks compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.47 to rank 31st out of the 64 NCAA Division III schools that were honored in the nation.

Simmons Swimming & Diving enjoyed another championship season in 2013-14, winning the Great Northeast Athletic Conference crown for the 10th straight year, including the last six under GNAC Coach of the Year Mindy Williams.  Williams was named the league's top mentor for the third time and was also named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Associations Women's Swim Coach of the Year.  The Sharks boasted the GNAC Rookie of the Year in Shylee Stewart (Eastham, MA) and saw 11 school records fall during the 2013-14 campaign.
