WESTON, Mass. -- Simmons Swimming & Diving defeated the Regis College Pride 145-50 Friday evening at the Regis Aquatics Center. Simmons was led by senior Jen Collins (Trumbull, Conn.) who added 18 individual points and junior Joleigh Ferro (Pittsfield, Mass.), who added 13.
The Sharks 200 Medley Relay of Chloe Davis (Merrimack, N.H.), Shylee Stewart (Eastham, Mass.), Amy Davis (Southbury, Conn.) and Collins took top honors to start the evening with a nine-second win over the Pride. Collins later added a first place finish in the 200 Free. First year Hannah Plourde (Westfield, Mass.) won the 400 IM with a personal best time and A. Davis won the 100 Fly by a six-second margin.
First year Miriam Swisher (Albuquerque, N.M.) finished first in the 100 Free and C. Davis edged teammate Joleigh Ferro for the top spot in the 100 Back. The Sharks swept the 500 Free, with Sarah Price (New York, N.Y.), Kara Silva (Reading, Mass.), and Rachael Mullen (Peabody, Mass.) finishing 1, 2, 3, respectively. Stewart defeated the Prides Haley Bowen in the 100 Breast to complete the sweep.
In the final relay of the meet, C. Davis, A. Davis, Price and Swisher finished first by more than 20 seconds in the 400 Free Relay.
Next up, the Sharks travel to Western New England on Jan. 25 for a 12:00 PM meet.
