  • Soccer Earns USC College Team Academic Award for 2016-17 Season

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Simmons College women's soccer team has been named a recipient of the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Team Academic Award for the 2016-17 academic year it was announced by the USC. The honor is given to soccer programs throughout the United States for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team.
  • Friedman to Play for Team USA at 20th World Maccabiah Games

    PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Simmons College women's soccer player Tasha Friedman (Phoenix, Ariz.) has been selected to compete for the Maccabi USA Open Women's Soccer Team at the 20th World Maccabiah Games, which will take place July 4-18 in Israel, it was announced recently by Maccabi USA Open Women's Soccer Chairman Marc Backal, along with Head Coach Wendi Whitman and Assistant Coach Catie Chase.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer First Team, while Cíara Forde (Quincy, Mass.) was selected to the Second Team and Tasha Friedman (Phoenix, Ariz.), Jessie Pratt (Westfield, Mass.) and Rachel Gilbert (Falmouth, Mass.) were all tabbed to the Third Team it was announced today by the league.

    PORTLAND, Maine - The fourth-seeded Saint Joseph's College (Maine) women's soccer team scored two unanswered goals in the second half to come away with a 3-1 victory over visiting number five seed Simmons College this afternoon at Deering Memorial Stadium in Portland, Maine in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinals. The Sharks fall to 8-9-2 on the season, while the Monks improve to 10-6-3.

The Sharks fall to 8-8-2 on the season, while the Warriors are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 games and run their win streak to three straight, while improving to 11-3-2 on the season.

    WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Sophomore midfielder Cíara Forde (Quincy, Mass.) netted a pair of goals to lead the Simmons College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over host University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at USJ Soccer Field in West Hartford, Conn. The Sharks improve to 8-7-2 overall and 7-4 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 6-10-1 and 4-6-1.

The Sharks fall to 7-7-2 overall and 6-4-0 in league play, while the Wildcats extend their unbeaten streak to 10 straight, including eight consecutive wins to improve to 13-2-3 and 8-0-2.
  • Gilbert Named GNAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week Again

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Rachel Gilbert (Falmouth, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week of October 10-16, it was announced today by the league. The honor marks the second time this season that Gilbert has earned the award. She was also named the top rookie for the week of September 19-25.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore midfielder Cíara Forde (Quincy, Mass.) netted a goal and assisted on another to lead the Simmons College women’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory over visiting Anna Maria College this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks are unbeaten in six of their last seven matches and improve to 7-6-2 overall, including 6-3-0 in league play, while the AMCATS fall to 2-12-0 and 1-8-0.

The Sharks improve to 1-2-1 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play, while the Raiders fall to 0-2-1 and 0-1-0. The match followed the college’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to officially open the Daly Athletics Complex.
