WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women's soccer player Kashka Gammon (Nashua, N.H.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, it was announced today by the league.

In two matches, the first year tallied a pair of goals for the Sharks. The forward scored in the team's rain-soaked 4-0 victory over visiting Norwich University on October 22 and capped the week by netting a goal in Simmons' 3-1 win at Mount Ida College on October 25.

The rookie has played in all 17 matches, while making 11 starts for the Sharks this season. She ranks fourth on the squad with five goals and 12 points, while standing third with a pair of assists. The Hollis Brookline High School product has been on quite an offensive roll for Simmons over the last week, notching at least one marker in each of the last three matches. Prior to the post-season, Simmons will play its final regular-season contest on Tuesday, October 28 when it heads to Springfield, Mass. to take on Springfield College at 7:00 p.m. The Sharks will then host number six seed Johnson & Wales University in the GNAC Quarterfinals on Sunday, November 2 at 12:00 p.m. on Winsor Field.
