Lacrosse Named a 2016 Academic Honor Squad by the IWLCA and Zag Sports

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Simmons College women's lacrosse team was named a 2016 Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and Zag Sports, it was announced by the organization.

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Simmons College women's lacrosse team was named a 2016 Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and Zag Sports, it was announced by the organization. 

The Sharks were one of 131 NCAA Division III programs to earn a team grade point average of 3.00 or better to earn the honor. Simmons posted a 3.42 team GPA and has been recognized for its academics by the IWLCA for the past four seasons. Nine members of the Simmons lacrosse team registered a GPA of 3.5 or higher, including a perfect 4.0.

The Sharks finished the season with an 8-9 record, including 5-4 in league play to finish fifth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Simmons concluded the campaign with an appearance in the GNAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
