BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Lacrosse (2-1) picked up their second straight win Monday afternoon, defeating the Massachusetts Maritime Buccaneers, 19-2 in non-conference action on a frigid day in Boston.

The Sharks scored ten straight goals to start the first half before the Buccaneers were able to get on the scoreboard. Under a minute into the first half, Becca Shea (Quincy, Mass.) scored the game winner and unleashed the Sharks offense. Following in her footsteps were Chelsea Keefe (Averill Park, N.Y.), Leanne Luke (Newton, Mass.), Stephanie Oliveri (Waltham, Mass.), Ashley Sheehan (North Attleboro, Mass.), Callie Warnock (Kingston, Mass.), Hannah McGoldrick (Newton, Mass.), and Emily Kaley (Manchester, Maine).

Massachusetts Maritime senior Shelagh Hogan beat Simmons goalkeeper Crystal Derosier (Kingston, Mass.) for the Buccaneers lone goal of the half. After a yellow card, Simmons freshman Marilyn Baremore (East Lyme, Conn.) capitalized on the man up possession and scored her first collegiate goal with 2:36 to play.

The second half was more of the same as the Sharks continued to dominate. Sophomore Ali Stonehouse (Keene, N.H.) scored a natural hat trick to start the half and Warnock, Kaley and Sheehan each added another. The Buccaneers scored their second goal when Hogan beat Kelly Last (West Haven, Conn.) during a man up possession off a free position shot but Alexia Malone Oliver (Bristol, R.I.) scored her second goal of the season to end the game, 19-2.

Derosier picked up her first win of the season, with one save on two shots while Deb Langley took the loss with 12 saves on 31 shots.

The Sharks held a 14-9 advantage in draw controls and a 21-8 advantage in ground balls.

Simmons returns to action on Wednesday, March 20th when they travel to GNAC foe Anna Maria for a 4:00 p.m. start.
