Rowing Completes the 2021-22 Season with Strong Showing at the Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Following a strong showing on first day of the Dad Vail Regatta, Simmons rowing performed well in a competitive race in the Grand Final on Saturday afternoon.

The second-place finish on day meant the Sharks did not have to race in the morning race alongside Marietta, Washington College and Catholic. The top two teams from that race moved of that race (Marietta and Washington) moved on to the Grand Final.

In the afternoon, the lead by coxswain, Irene Swanson, the Sharks came out the gate strong. Battling a misty rain, they crossed the finish line with a time of 7:11.320 to place fifth. Bryn Mawr ended up, edging out Washington College by three seconds with a time of 6:52.384 to claim first place.
