Crew's Varsity Eight Places 20th at 54th Head of the Charles

BOSTON, MASS. -- The Simmons University Varsity Eight placed 20th at the 54th Head of the Charles Regatta this afternoon on the Charles River in Boston, Mass.

The Sharks clocked in at 20:23.232 in the historic race. Bates College finished first with a mark of 18:18.054.

The Simmons eight featured first year stroke Maggie O'Byrne (Boston, Mass.) followed by sophomore Samantha Kelsey (Salt Lake City, Utah), junior Peizhu Pam Qian (Beijing, China/Developing Virtue Secondary Girls School (Calif.)), sophomore Steffi Gaehde (Brookline, Mass.), junior Sabrina Belozerova (Newton, Mass.), senior Eleanor Pullan (Northampton, Mass.), junior Hannah Dike (Leominster, Mass.) and senior bow Nicole Lee (North Reading, Mass.), while junior Ally Fecteau (Burlington, Conn.) directed the shell from the coxswain seat. 

The Sharks close out the fall season on Sunday, October 28 when they compete in the Seven Sisters Championship on the Charles River in Boston.
