2014 NIRC All-ECAC and All-Academic Teams Announced

CENTERVILLE, Mass. ? The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) Stewards announced the 2013-2014 Men?s and Women?s All-ECAC NIRC teams today.

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) Stewards announced the 2013-2014 Men's and Women's All-ECAC NIRC teams today. 

 Simmons sophomore Sophie Stone (Greenland, N.H.) was one of 42 student-athletes chosen from 27 institutions for the accolade. Coaches from each member institution selected a deserving member from their respective crews to be honored.

The ECAC also announced the NIRC Stewards All-Academic Team today. Jillayne Adamyk (Groton, Mass.), Allie Belanger (Blackstone, Mass.), Jill Bolduc (Methuen, Mass.), Andrea Breen (Amherst, Mass.), Rachel Corning (Ipswich, Mass.), Laura Matt (Fairfax Station, Va.), Taylor Nealand (Francestown, N.H.), Abi Smith (Brookline, Mass.) and Sophie Stone all received the honor. A total of 355 student-athletes from 27 institutions earned the distinction for the 2013-2014 academic year. 

To receive All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.
