Sharks Fall to Cadets in Season Finale
February 16, 2013BOSTON, Mass. -- In their final home game of the season, the Simmons Sharks fell to the Norwich University Cadets, 84-67 Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The Sharks honored senior Liz O’Connor (Milton, Mass.) before the game, presenting her with the game ball from Jan. 31st when she netted her 1,000th career point.

Simmons Topped by Suffolk in GNAC Action, 74-49
February 14, 2013BOSTON, Mass. -- The Simmons Sharks fell to the Suffolk University Rams, 74-49 Thursday Night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Basketball action. The Rams improved to a 19-5 mark on the year while the loss drops Simmons to a 4-17 record on the year, and 2-9 mark in GNAC play.

O'Connor Records Double-Double as Sharks Fall to Falcons in GNAC Action
February 12, 2013NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior Liz O'Connor (Milton, Mass.) scored her seventh double-double of the season but the visiting Simmons Sharks fell to Albertus Magnus, 67-53 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest Tuesday evening. Tonight’s victory gives Albertus a 6-4 mark in GNAC play, while Simmons falls to 4-16 on the year and 2-8 in conference action.

January 15, 2013STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph’s College (8-6, 2-1 GNAC) toppled Simmons College (2-10, 0-2 GNAC), 74-46, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s basketball contest at the Harold Alfond Center on Tuesday night. Senior guard Danyelle Shufelt netted a game-high 20 points, including 18 in the first half, in the one-sided triumph.

With the win the Lions improve to 5-9 on the year and 1-2 in conference play as the Sharks fall to 2-9 overall and 0-1 in the GNAC.

The Lyons, who were led by a game-high 18 points from senior Angelica Pascual, improves to 2-7 overall. The Sharks slip to 1-7 on the season.

December 11, 2012WALTHAM, Mass. – Simmons basketball fell to the Brandeis University Judges 69-37 Tuesday evening in non-conference action. Brandeis was led by junior guard Kasey Dean, who scored a game-high 12 points on 5-of-10 from the floor. Dean also finished with a game- and season-high six assists, two shy of a career-best.

November 18, 2012WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- In the game to decide third place at the Eastern Connecticut State University Tip-Off Tournament, Connecticut College (1-1) won its first tip-off tournament game in its fourth try by holding the Simmons Sharks (0-2) to 20.8 percent shooting from the floor and forcing 24 turnovers (five shot-clock violations) in a 52-27 victory.

Warriors Trump Sharks 64-33 in Season Opener
November 17, 2012WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- The Eastern Connecticut State University women’s basketball team got off to a 16-2 run in its season-opener against visiting Simmons College and eased to a 64-33 victory in the opener of the 33rd Annual Tip-Off Tournament Saturday evening at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.

2012-2013 Basketball Season Preview
November 08, 2012BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons basketball will open their 2012-2013 season on Saturday, November 10th in a scrimmage versus the Newbury College Nighthawks at 1:00 p.m. at the newly constructed Hascom Fitness Center on Hascom Air Force Base. The Sharks, who went 4-20 and 1-12 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, will look to their five returners to set the tone for their 2012-2013 campaign.
