Muskingum came back from a 2-0 deficit and scored the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

First year relief pitcher Hannah Duff (Strasburg, Ohio) allowed just two hits over the final four innings, while striking out two and walking a pair to earn the victory and improve to 3-0 for the Muskies. Senior starting pitcher Juliet Nelson (Cumberland, R.I.) was the tough-luck losing hurler for Simmons, yielding three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks, while fanning three batters.

Sophomore center fielder Molly Hennessey (Charlton, Mass.) led all batters with three hits in four trips for the Sharks, including a double to go with a run batted in, while junior third base Dom Ortiz (Lawrence, Mass.) also collected three hits in as many at-bats for Simmons.
