The Sharks, who are seeded third in the ECAC tournament, took on Nichols College, and came away with a 4-1 win, and the first postseason win in program history.

Softball Picks Up Two Wins Against JWU In GNAC Double HeaderMarch 31, 2008East Providence, R.I. – The Simmons softball team picked up a pair of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contests against Johnson & Wales at Pierce Field on Saturday afternoon. Simmons posted an 8-2 win in the opener and finished the day with an 8-0 victory in the nightcap.

Sharks Take Two Over DWCMarch 31, 2008The Simmons College softball team remained unbeaten in GNAC play on Sunday taking a doubleheader sweep from Daniel Webster with scores of 6-1 and 8-0. In the first game Daniel Webster got on the board in the top of the first, courtesy of a single, stolen base, and an RBI groundout. But the Sharks answered in the home half of the first, when Emily Nalband reached base to start the game, and scored on an RBI single from Dannie Szabo.

Simmons Softball Off to Excellent StartMarch 17, 2008The Simmons softball team soared to new heights at its annual Florida trip last week, winning a school record nine games down south against just one setback. The Sharks got contributions from everyone, whether it was with the bat, the glove, or in the circle. Freshman Dannie Szabo burst onto the college scene with a team best .484 batting average, while also belting two homers and driving in a team leading 12 RBI. Senior captain Ann Talarico was close behind with a .441 average and 10 runs batted in while playing flawless defense at shortstop. Senior Natalie West batted .400 for the week as well contributing a homer and six RBI.
