  • Desharnais, Platt, Poteat and Scott Named Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Scholars of Distinction

    GILBERT, Ariz. – Simmons University field hockey junior Hannah Scott (Claremont, N.H.), sophomore Liz Poteat (Westfield, Mass.) and first years Brianna Desharnais (Freedom, N.H.) and Michela Platt (Waltham, Mass.) were all named Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Scholars of Distinction it was announced by the NFHCA.

    GILBERT, Ariz. – The Simmons University field hockey team saw 16 student-athletes named to the Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad, ict was announced by the NFHCA. 
  • Field Hockey Earns NFHCA National Academic Team Award for 18th Straight Year

    GILBERT, Ariz. - The Simmons University field hockey team posted a 3.55 fall semester grade point average to earn the 2018 ZAG Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Collegiate National Academic Team Award it was announced by the NFHCA. The honor marks the 18th straight year that the Sharks have earned the accolade.
  • Fontaine Named to NFHCA All-Region Second Team

    GILBERT, Ariz. – Simmons University field hockey player Meghan Fontaine (Westminster, Mass.) was named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association New England East Region Second Team, it was announced today by the NFHCA. 
  • Fontaine Named GNAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year; Five Named to All-Conference Team

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Meghan Fontaine (Westminster, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year in addition to being named to the All-Conference First Team. Senior Ana Giarrusso (Hingham, Mass.), sophomores Abby Anderson (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and Maggie Fuzak (Buffalo, N.Y.) and first year Emily Plummer (San Diego, Calif.) were all tabbed to the GNAC Second Team. 
  • Field Hockey Ends Season with 6-0 Loss at Saint Joseph's (Maine) in GNAC Semifinals

    STANDISH, Maine -- The number four seeded Simmons University field hockey team was defeated by host number one seed Saint Joseph's College, 6-0, this evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals at the SJC Athletics Complex in Standish, Maine. The Sharks finish their season at 7-12, while the Monks, who received votes in the most recent National Field Hockey Coaches Association national poll, improve to 18-1.
  • D'Anna, Devitt Lead Field Hockey over Johnson & Wales, 2-0, in GNAC Tournament First Round

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore forward Lily D’Anna (Woodstock, Vt.) and first year forward Lilly Devitt (Belmont, Mass.) each scored to lead the fourth-seeded Simmons University field hockey team to a 2-0 victory over visiting number five seed Johnson & Wales University this evening in the opening round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass.

    NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Simmons University field hockey team was defeated by host Colby-Sawyer College, 1-0, this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Veitch Turf Field in New London, N.H. The Sharks fall to 6-11 overall, including 4-3 in league play, while the Chargers win their school-record seventh straight match and improve to 13-4 and 5-2.
  • Field Hockey Defeats Anna Maria, 4-1

    PAXTON, Mass. -- Four different players scored for the Simmons University field hockey team in a 4-1 victory over host Anna Maria College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match today on AMCAT Field in Paxton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 6-10 overall and 4-2 in league play, while the AMCATS fall to 6-8 and 2-4.
  • Field Hockey Edges Regis (Mass.), 4-3

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University field hockey team received four goals from four different players and hung on to defeat visiting Regis (Mass.), 4-3, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks improve to 5-10 overall and 3-2 in league play, while the Pride fall to 2-10 and 1-5.

    DUDLEY, Mass. -- The Simmons University field hockey team was defeated by host Nichols College, 3-0, this afternoon at Vendetti Field in Dudley, Mass. The Sharks fall to 4-10 on the season, while the Bison improve to 7-6.

    SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Simmons University field hockey team held host Mount Holyoke College scoreless through the first half of play, but the home team scored a pair of goals in the second period to come away with a 2-0 victory this evening at MHC Turf Field in South Hadley, Mass. The Sharks fall to 4-9 on the season, while the Lyons improve to 7-6.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- First year midfielder Emily Plummer (San Diego, Calif.) scored a pair of goals to lead the Simmons University field hockey team over host Johnson & Wales University, 4-2, this afternoon at Scotts Miracle-Gro Field in Providence, R.I. The Sharks improve to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in league play, while the Wildcats fall to 2-8 and 1-3.

The Sharks improve to 3-7 overall, including 1-2 in league play, while the Raiders fall to 2-7 and 0-4.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Sophomore midfielder Liz Poteat (Westfield, Mass.) and first year midfielder Emily Plummer (San Diego, Calif.) each matched the Simmons University field hockey record with five goals apiece, while the team tied the NCAA Division III record for goals in a game in a 19-0 victory over host Albertus Magnus College this afternoon at Celatano Field in New Haven, Conn. The Sharks improve to 2-3 on the season, while the Falcons fall to 0-2.

The Sharks improve to 1-3 on the season, while the Owls fall to 1-2.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Junior forward Hannah Scott (Claremont, NH) broke through for her first collegiate goal, but the Simmons College field hockey team fell to visiting Clark University, 3-1, this evening in the season opener for both teams at Daly Field in Brighton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 0-1 on the season, while the Cougars improve to 1-0.
