BOSTON, Mass. – First year forward Julie Saltamartini (East Hampstead, N.H.) and sophomore forward Jenna Gagnon (Waterville, Maine) each tallied a pair of goals to lead the Simmons College field hockey team to a 6-0 victory over visiting Bay Path College this evening on Winsor Field in Boston, Mass. The Sharks win their sixth straight match for their longest win streak in at least eight years and improve to 10-4 on the season, while the Wildcats fall to 0-10. 

Simmons dominated the match from start to finish, outshooting Bay Path, 36-0, while owning a 20-1 advantage on penalty corners. 

Gagnon and Saltamartini combined to score the final four goals of the night for the Sharks. Gagnon's first tally came at 27:17 of the first half when junior forward Amy Cronin (Georgetown, Mass.) carried the ball into the circle and centered to Gagnon for a shot into the left corner and a 3-0 lead. The score remained the same at the intermission. First year forward Samantha Rondeau (Franklin, Mass.) set up Saltamartini with a centering pass for a quick shot that resulted in a goal just 2:55 into the second stanza. The pair hooked up again just under four minutes later when Rondeau found Saltamartini in the right slot for her team-leading 12^th goal of the season at 41:20 to give the home team a 5-0 lead. Gagnon capped the scoring when she carried the ball all the way into the circle, where weaved through the defense before burying her fourth marker of the year at 51:54 for a 6-0 Simmons cushion. 

Gagnon looked to open the scoring with a shot from inside the circle that senior forward Kelly Williamson (Natick, Mass.) redirected into the back of the cage for her eighth score of the season just 2:32 into the contest. Cronin later unleashed a hard shot from just inside the circle that Rondeau tipped into the cage for her fifth goal of the season and a 2-0 Sharks' lead at 17:45. 

Sophomore keeper Brianna Rastello (Salem, N.H.) was untested in the first half for Simmons, before yielding to classmate Hope McDonald (Hingham, Mass.), who also did not face a shot in the second half. Junior goalie Anna Meyer (Millbrook, N.Y.) made 23 saves for the Wildcats. 

The Sharks will be in action again on Saturday, October 18 when they host Great Northeast Athletic Conference rival Rivier University on Winsor Field at 11:00 a.m. in the last regular-season home match for the Simmons seniors. Bay Path returns to play on October 18, hosting Becker College at 5:00 p.m. in a match to be played on the campus of Elms College in Chicopee, Mass.
