BOSTON, Mass. ? Senior forward Kelly Williamson (Natick, Mass.) scored a pair of goals to lead the Simmons College field hockey team over visiting Rivier University, 5-0, this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on Winsor Field in Boston, Mass. The Sharks win their seventh straight match to improve to 11-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in league play, while the Raiders fall to 5-11 and 1-5.

WESTON, Mass. - Senior forward Kelly Williamson (Natick, Mass.) scored the only goal of the night to give the Simmons College field hockey team a 1-0 victory over host Regis College this evening in Weston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 2-3 on the season, while the Pride fall to 1-3.

Simmons dominated the shots by a 29-1 count and owned a 13-1 advantage on penalty corners.

Simmons got on the board in the 29th minute after setting up in the Pride's end. The Sharks peppered the Regis keeper with a number of shots, including and opporturnity from junior midfielder Amy Cronin (Georgetown, Mass.), who unleashed a shot that ricocheted off the keeper and right onto Williamson's stick. With the flick of the wrist, Williamson put the ball off the rebound into the back of the cage for her second tally of the season and a 1-0 Simmons lead it would never relinquish.

The Sharks had an opportunity to jump out to an early lead on a penalty corner opportunity in the 10th minute of play. Cronin took the corner chance and fed a freshman midfielder Marra
Wagner (Chester County, Pa.)
who ripped a shot on goal that was blocked by Pride midfielder Jenna Casello (Westborough, Mass.). Casello then cleared the ball out of the zone which thwarted a possible scoring chance.

Simmons later had an opportunity to add to its lead when Cronin was awarded a penalty stroke, but was stifled by Pride goalie Raegan Heck (Phillipston, Mass.). Regis found itself in the Sharks' end during the last few minutes of play, but could make nothing of it as Casello's shot was blocked by sophomore midfielder Robin Powell (Richmond, Vt.)to end the threat.

Sophomore keeper Brianna Rastello (Salem, N.H.) was untested in posting her second shutout of the season for Simmons. Powell stopped the only Regis shot with a defensive save. Heck made 19 saves on the night and senior Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.) made two defensive saves for the Pride, while Sam Anderson (Sandwich, Mass.) added one of her own.

The Sharks return to action on Saturday, September 13 when they host Mount Ida College to open the Great Northeast Athletic Conference schedule on Winsor Field in Boston, Mass. at 1:00 p.m., while the Pride travel to take on Lasell College at 12:00 p.m. on the same day.
