Skaggs Named Assistant Sports Information Director/Marketing Coordinator

BOSTON, Mass. – Adam Skaggs (Framingham, Mass.) has been named Assistant Sports Information Director/Marketing Coordinator at Simmons College, it was announced today by Director of Athletics, Ali Kantor.  

Skaggs will work in the office of Sports Information on campus and help in the department's emphasis on promoting the college's athletic programs on and off campus.

Skaggs comes to Boston with five years of experience in the field of college sports information, having spent a year at Tufts University and four seasons at his alma mater, Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. Skaggs helped promote all 28 athletics programs at Tufts, including creating promotional material. The Massachusetts native also wrote game stories during his time at Trinity and helped with coverage of all 27 athletics programs at the college.

While at Trinity, Skaggs was also a member of the Bantams' men's basketball team, where he was a defensive stalwart, leading the team in steals in three of his four campaigns.  

In addition to his sports information stints, Skaggs also honed his skills as a statistician for Springfield Armor of the National Basketball Association Developmental League and affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets.

Skaggs graduated from Trinity in 2013 with a degree in sociology with a minor in studio art.  

The Simmons Assistant Sports Information Director/Marketing Coordinator position was made possible through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Grant Program. Skaggs is one of just 18 inviduals in the nation to receive the grant.

The Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Grant provides funding for entry-level administrative positions at Division III institutions and conference offices to encourage access, recruitment, selection and the long-term success of ethnic minorities and women.
