Daly Field

Daly Field opened in August 2016 with the first athletic content played on September 1. Simmons was proud to play a leadership role in the innovative public/private partnership that transformed Daly Field from a long neglected parcel of public land into a state-of-the-art recreational facility.

Daly Field is the home of the Simmons field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball and tennis teams and serves the diverse athletic and recreational needs of the Allston-Brighton community.

Facilities

DALY FIELD ONE

Daly Field consists of seven acres of parkland on the banks of the Charles River in the Brighton section of Boston on Nonantum Road.

 The Daly Field Complex 

• Multipurpose synthetic turf field - containing NCAA Division III regulation soccer (210'x348'), women's (195'x360') and men's (180'x330')lacrosse fields, and MIAA standard high school football field (160'x360') plus stadium seating for 200 and elevated press area

• 

  Softball diamond - NCAA compliant with 215 ft synthetic turf infield and outfield in addition to a clay pitching circle

• Field hockey field - NCAA Division III synthetic turf field (180'x300')

• Tennis courts - Six fenced NCAA standard size courts for singles and doubles play

• Field house - 3,200 square foot energy efficient building, including a sports medicine facility, team meeting rooms, public restrooms, drinking fountain and bottle filler.

• Walking track - A quarter mile, two-lane walking track surrounding the softball field & tennis courts

• Bike/walking path - A walking/bike path along the riverside of the Charles River

• Stadium lighting - Innovative and sustainable sports lighting system

• Digital scoring ? Customized & sustainable digital scoring and timing systems

As a women's institution with a strong athletics program, we know the value of women's participation in sports. Scholar athletes are among our top students. Simmons' lead role in the project as a Friend of Daly Field reflects our longstanding commitment to leadership development for girls and women, and to community engagement more broadly.
